![]() Take that assembly and place it in the bottom hole of the bag. Place the bolt through the washer and then through the cross member. Right now you want the one with the quarter inch hole. Pick up a barrel bolt and disassemble it by unscrewing the bolt. Again, if one of the marks falls where an existing grommet hole is, that is not a problem. Your second bag should now have the matching four marks. Now, mark the second bag through the drilled holes of the first. Open the bag and double check your alignment. Hold them tightly together and place them on the outside of the second bag. Be sure they are lined up evenly next to one another. The backs of the bags should be touching. Now, place the second bag next to the drilled bag. Often times, one of your marks will be up on the existing grommet hole. Be sure you stay on the center mark of each one. Using a three-eighth inch drill bit, drill the four holes you've marked. Remove the cross member and upright, then make a small X in the center of each mark. Now, just as you marked the tops of the bags, you will mark the bottom based on where your uprights are. Be sure your top holes of the uprights stay aligned with the marks. Next, take a cross member and align the holes with the bottom holes of the two uprights. Place two uprights on the bag in this manner, aligned with the marks. Be sure that the long end of the top of the upright is pointing away from the bag towards the bike when mounted. Place your bag on the workbench and pick up your upright, which will be mounted where you made the marks. You'll need to use the included strut bolts and spacers from your kit to install the bags. Have your buddy hold the bag at the desired location and mark the backside of the bag where the fender strut bolts touch the backside of the bag. You will mark your bags using your existing fender strut bolt. You need to have a minimum of a one inch gap between them. Once the bag is level and even, measure the distance from the lowest point on the bag to the top of your exhaust pipe. First of all, we need to manually place the bag on the bike for a visual alignment. You will need an adjustable wrench, a marker or grease pen, a power drill with a three-eighth inch drill bit, and a flat head screwdriver. Included in this kit are your saddlebags, installation instructions, and mounting hardware, which consists of upright, cross members, barrel bolts, lock nuts, and washers.
